   1. Freakonomics

I would literally choose to read this book just by the amazing book title. In this book, the authors measure how people make decisions and even though it may seem far from traditional economics, it is not. Looking at the populist economics application is what is focused on in this book. They measure how individuals respond to incentives. Topics discussed are how parents come up with the name for their child, for example. It may seem a bit far out there for economics students, but it can teach you that there is economics in everyday life.

This book was published in 1962 and it still has so much meaning today. The author claims that in order for economic freedom to exist, we need to live in a free and liberal world. This still applies today as the economy is still struggling to get back to where it was. Many countries can learn from this book and you can too.

The title of the book seems promising and is a great read for new economics students. You are able to read about the concept that surrounds economics and the author sums it up beautifully. He captures the essence of what we face every day beautifully and in a manner that is practical.

Conclusion

Economics is such an interesting career choice, but it goes beyond a job at the end of your studies. You are going to be able to apply these lessons in your everyday life and that is the beauty of it. Economics is in everything we see and everything we do. The actions we take have consequences and we need to always remember that. Once you grasp the basics of economics, you just have to go ahead and apply it to your studies. Every action has a reaction and that can be measured. It is up to you to use the tools you learn in your studies to apply it to the scenario given. Even though there is a lot of theory in this subject, most of it is how to apply it. Enjoy your studies and remember that this is more than just a module. This is a module in how you could see life.
