Anti-DDOS protection firm hacked

Staminus communication INC. , California-based internet hosting provider that specializes  in providing protection for customers from a massive “DDOS”(Distributed Denial Of Service) attacks which aims at knocking of sites offline, has itself been massively hacked.

When you dedicate your company to protection against hacks, you make yourself a bigger target for those hacks.The company has announced on its official site confirming the issue was a result of an unauthorized intrusion into their network, as a result all their systems were temporarily taken offline and customer information was exposed.

StaminaAccording to the report from the firm’s initial investigation, it is confirmed that the usernames and hash passwords, customer record information, including name and contact information were all exposed.

The CEO of the firm has assured that they have and will continue to put additional measures in place to harden their security to help prevent a future attack while all the exposed passwords were protected with a cryptographic hash.
